Aspen offers access to countless year-round outdoor pursuits immersed in nature with extraordinary views upon every turn. The Gant has partnered with trusted local outfitters, Nomad Inc., Aspen Outfitting Co., and Blazing Adventures, to create inspired offerings to experience Aspen from the local perspective. Each activity includes transportation, tailored scheduling, expertly guided excursions and more.

Heli-Canyoneering
The day begins as we load up at the Aspen airport and it’s off to Moab with our expert adventure partners,  Nomad Inc. and Moab Helix. A quick stop at the Moab airport to refuel and pick up the canyoneering guide and you’ll be en route to Bluejohn Canyon – made famous by the movie 127 Hours. Bluejohn Canyon offers many different options for all levels of ability and ages. The day consists of rappels, tight slot canyons and down climbing. After a day of adventure and breathtaking scenery it’s back to Aspen. This is a not to miss experience, definitely bring your camera!

Backcountry Touring
Join a Nomad Inc. trained ambassador and adventure guide to customize your backcountry ski experience in the Aspen area. Experience and location are customized based on current snow conditions, forecast and group ability levels. This custom experience can be as structured or open as preferred and is modified to suit individual preferences. Avid skiers who are interested in becoming more involved in backcountry skiing can opt for a three-day Avalanche Level One Class.

Private Glassblowing Experiences
Journey down the Roaring Fork Valley to Carbondale, Colorado to try your hand at the unique craft of glassblowing. The team at Spiro Lyon Glass has been blowing glass for over 25 years and their combined skills realize master craftsmanship results. Choose between a “Firestarter Workshop” where, over the course of three hours, you learn about the ancient art of glassblowing and have an opportunity to blow glass for yourself – or – if you prefer a one-one-one learning environment, private glassblowing experiences can also be arranged.

Upland Bird Hunting
Aspen Outfitting Company offers both wild and released bird hunts for pheasant and partridge. Aspen Outfitting Company is proud to offer these full day outings from September through March. Spend a full day in the field with a knowledgeable and attentive guide, a pair of elegant hunting dogs, and your closest friends on Colorado’s western slope.

Heli-Snowmobiling
Adventure includes roundtrip heli-transportation, snowmobile, snowmobile guide, four hours of snowmobiling, helmet, goggles and lunch in the field or Electric Mountain Lodge. Adventure locale offers over 300,000 acres of forested Rocky Mountain backcountry terrain surrounded by 300,000 acres of forest. Accessible only by helicopter for the winter adventure enthusiast. *Guests may also opt for Mercedes van transfer as desired.

Guided Fly Fishing
Whether you are a beginner or expert, the Aspen area’s famous ‘Gold Medal’ designated rivers hold something special for people of all ages and abilities. Aspen Outfitting Company offers half-day guided trips daily throughout the entire year. They are proud to offer the most knowledgeable and attentive guides in the area, who have an intimate understanding of our beautiful local streams. Whether wading or floating, our expert and friendly guides will provide a fly fishing experience long to be remembered.

Sunrise Paddle Boarding
Enjoy a three to four hour guided scenic sunrise paddle on a serene nature preserve, river or alpine lake with the location based on guests’ ability and current water levels. Excursion includes a paddle board, paddle, personal flotation device, photos captured during the session and van transportation to and from the destination.

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES)
Discover the natural wonders of Aspen with ACES during your stay at The Gant.

  • Embark on group guided hikes to iconic destinations like Maroon Bells, Aspen Mountain, and Snowmass, where knowledgeable guides unveil the secrets of the wilderness (drop-in).
  • For a more intimate experience, opt for private guided hikes to pristine locations such as Ashcroft, Hunter Creek, Lost Man, American and Cathedral Lakes, or Smuggler Trail ($250 up to 12 people, 1 week in advance reservations required).
  • Witness the majesty of Birds of Prey up close during daily shows (Monday-Saturday, 4-5pm, $10 drop-in).

Don’t miss out on other unique activities such as leisurely evening Beaver Walks, rejuvenating Wild Yoga Sound Bathing sessions and unforgettable Dinner experiences. ACES offers a multitude of ways to immerse yourself in Aspen’s breathtaking natural environment.

Backcountry ATV Adventure
Venture into the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains by an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). This adventure includes transportation to Electric Mountain Lodge, ATV rental, ATV guide, four hours of riding, helmet, goggles and lunch. Guests may opt for roundtrip transportation of choice between a flightseeing helicopter ride or private Mercedes Sprinter van escort.

Aspen to Crested Butte Hiking Trek
For experienced and unexperienced hikers, the trek from Aspen to Crested Butte is a local-and visitor- favorite offering extraordinary views bursting with colorful wildflowers. The 10.2-mile hike climbs over 3,000 feet in elevation and ranges between six and nine hours in duration depending on skill level. Upon completion of the trek, guests may choose to return to Aspen courtesy of a private shuttle or stay overnight in the neighboring mountain town of Crested Butte prior to private shuttle service the following day.

Paonia Wine Tasting Experience
Explore Colorado wine country during a stay at The Gant with a scenic 90-minute drive through the picturesque Roaring Fork and Crystal Valleys to Paonia. This full day excursion guides guests through tastings and tours at Azura Cellars and Gallery, Black Bridge Winery, Endless Endeavor Winery, Stone Cottage Cellars and others along with lunch at a local eatery with a late afternoon return to Aspen.

Venture deep into the heart of the Elk Mountains backcountry through aromatic forests of aspen and pine while climbing to wildflower-carpeted alpine meadows with sweeping views. Beyond magnificent sights, learn about Aspen’s unique geology, flora and fauna from expert guides.
