Rolling Canvas Art in Motion
Showcasing Roaring Fork Valley Artists on the Streets of Aspen
Four Artists, Four Stories: A Moving Tribute to Aspen’s Creative Spirit
The Gant’s mobile artist-in-residence program transforms our legendary Gant Vans into moving works of art. This initiative showcases the Roaring Fork Valley’s vibrant creative spirit by commissioning four local artists to transform our vans into moving canvases, each reflecting their personal connection to the valley.
Inspired by the resort’s festive 50th-anniversary commemorative gold wraps, Rolling Canvas – Art in Motion merges art, community, and travel, offering a new layer to Aspen’s cultural landscape. The first two vans will debut this summer, with the remaining unveilings in the winter season, accompanied by artist showcases and activations.

Describe your artwork for Rolling Canvas in five words or less.
- Poetic reverence for the land (that’s five words, ha!) Three words would be: whimsical, delightful, curious
What do you consider to be the most valuable gift the Roaring Fork Valley has provided you?
- Introspection. The land has provided me an opportunity to grow and thrive. It provides constant invitations to explore, delight, rest, push myself, and feel held. I feel very held here. The valley resonates with me on a level that makes me feel at home. When you feel deeply held and at home, you are open to explore and grow. I have done that over the past 13 years of living here and exploring deeper and deeper. I have manifested dreams to life here – including owning a home and starting an art career and growing a family. We are all constantly evolving and this land offers me the introspective space to evolve with it.
About the Artist
Artist Q&A
What is your art philosophy?
- I use art as a tool to connect people back to their innate wisdom and their interconnectedness to Nature. Nature is my greatest muse and source of inspiration. I paint whimsical mountain landscapes based primarily on my felt experience and memories of the mountains I’ve spent time in over the years. I believe we are all artists and creativity comes in many forms. I’ve spent the past five years hosting wellness retreats in deep nature to help empower a connection to our innate wisdom through creativity.
What is your greatest achievement?
- Wow, what a loaded question! Haha. I have spent a lot of my life being focused on achievement. I’ve been addicted to it, like many of us in our culture, and have sought achievement in every area of my life – school, sports, career. When I had children this shifted. I realized that life is not about achieving accolades or status or things… It’s about personal growth and an ability to be more than to do. It’s about modeling a peaceful and generous way of being to my children. How do I want to be? That’s a question that resonates more these days. I would like to be present with my family and my community in a way that brings us all back into coherence with the nature around us. I feel called to empower creativity, kindness, and wellbeing through the work I do as an artist. I find the process of growth is infinite and my greatest achievement will be to keep showing up for the growth and sharing the journey in a vulnerable, empowering way with others.
What is your favorite thing to do in the Roaring Fork Valley?
- I feel so deeply grateful to call this place home. The wilderness is wide and vast here. It will take a lifetime to explore every inch of trails, mountain peaks, and alpine lakes. I look forward to seeing new places deep in Nature and revisiting the places that have offered me so much over the years. I live on the Crystal River and have developed an incredible relationship with these waters, visiting the river bank every day throughout the seasons. I love deepening this relationship I have with the land here and sharing the magic with my children.
