Autumn in Aspen - Part 2

The leaves are in full color here in Aspen, Colorado and after a full day of hiking golden trails I can’t think of a better way to begin the night (or reward yourself!) than eating a mouthwatering meal at one of the many restaurants right in the heart of Aspen.

Our little town boasts some of the best restaurants in Colorado with some of the best off season deals.   Many of the restaurants in Aspen are offering discounts or prix fix meal options throughout the fall off-season!  BB’s Kitchen has a $29 3 course prix fixe menu throughout the fall and Rustique is offering 50% off their dinner menu this Sunday evening.  Our concierge here at The Gant also has a list of all the deals in town.  And for the handful of restaurants that may not be running discounted options, do as the locals and dine in the bar area.  Most of the restaurants in town offer a less expensive bar menu with dishes straight off their dining menu – same food for less money, what more could you ask for?  So my advice, take advantage of dining out this fall and experience some world-class restaurants at a budget friendly price!

Finally, to top off a perfect autumn day, I suggest checking out the famous Aspen nightlife scene.  One of my favorite aspects of the social scene here is the amazing live music that you can find on a nightly basis.  While local artists are often found playing at many of the bars in town, the Belly Up is Aspen’s premier music venue with nightly shows ranging from rock and reggae to electronic, jazz, hip hop, and funk.  And if live music doesn’t get you excited for the night, check out one of the many clubs our town has to offer or spend the night rivaling friends in a game of pool at Aspen Billiards.  Whatever your nightlife preference is, I promise that Aspen has an endless array of entertainment options, and fall is the perfect time to visit The Gant and our unique mountain town!

Autumn in Aspen

Summer is winding down and we just had our first snowfall of the season!

Here at The Gant and in our beautiful town of Aspen and some might now find themselves thinking “just what am I going to do until the snow starts falling?”  Autumn may just be the most beautiful time of year to visit Aspen, Colorado and there is certainly no shortage of activities to keep everyone busy from sun up until the wee hours of the morning!

Don’t pack up your hiking and biking gear for the year just yet!  Some of the best hiking and biking is done during the fall when the leaves are changing, temperature are a little cooler, and the array of colors seen on any given trail is essentially endless.  My favorite hiking spot in the fall is up around Maroon Bells – pictured here just this morning with a little dusting of snow on top of the peak.  Did you know The Bells are some of the most photographed mountains in North America?  Topping out at over 14,000 feet, hiking around The Maroon Bells are an amazing way to spend the day.  If you want a real challenge, hop on your road bike and cycle up to the area instead.  The ride is about 11 miles from town.  It’s only uphill one way – you can fly downhill back in to Aspen after you’ve taken in the extraordinary views.  If you have yet to experience the changing leaves in a mountain town, one thing to be sure is not to forget your camera!

See what special rates The Gant has to offer this fall as well as many other local Aspen activities and attractions.

This beautiful picture showing the changing leaves and Aspen's first snow was taken by Jeremy Swanson.
