The Gant Is Aspen
We have been coming to the Gant in March for many of the past 20 years. It truly feels like home for us. We are traditionalists, and have our annual traditions down to a science. From calling the Gant Van upon arriving at Sardi Field, to our first lunch at Boogie's Diner, we are programmed. We're then off to Buttermilk to get our rental skis, then back to the City Market and the Grog Shop for supplies. Our first night is usually spent at Little Annie's, then early to bed. Waking up at the Gant is a special treat, because we always ask, and usually get, a room in Buliding B with a great view of the mountain. There is nothing like fresh snow overnight to put us in a great mood. After our first day of skiing, we make a bee-line to the hot tub to relax those tired muscles, then it is time to talk to Brooke or Marty about booking some great restaurants. We tell all our friends about the special convenience of the Gant. We never rent a car because you can walk most everywhere, or take the Gant Van to the more distant locales. And when we return, we are always met with a smile and pleasant greeting - from every Gant associate. This year we were riding in the Gant Van with some other guests who were looking for a place to eat dinner. Our driver was suggesting several restaurants based upon the desires of the guests. As he dropped them near Jimmy's, I commented that, "If you are going to be in Aspen, why would you stay anywhere but the Gant?". That represents our true feelings, and why we keep coming back year after year. Thanks, Gant, for making our winter vacation so special! Bob and Carole Ackerman Brian and Crystal Kottcamp
