We plan to go back to the Gant as soon as we can!
We rented a unit at the Gant this summer for our first trip to Aspen. Several people had recommended it for our family. The unit was wonderful- they even let us move the first day to a unit that suited us better. The nice bellman moved a lot of luggage from the first unit to one much further away with no complaint. Everyone working there was really helpful and pleasant to work with. They helped us get tickets to the Natalie Cole concert which was fabulous! The grounds are very well kept and the hot tub spotless. ( I am not one to get in hot tubs so that says a lot) The trail up to the top of Aspen mtn started at the back gate. Everything else ( grocery, restaurants, movie house) was a healthy quick stroll away. Plan to go back as soon as we can!

A Great Location
My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Gant during our first visit to Colorado. We stayed in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit that was just perfect in every way. It had flat-screen TV's in the bedrooms and one in the living area, the furniture and beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The condo and surrounding grounds were neat, clean and well maintained. The staff was very pleasant and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Although a shuttle service was available, we found it to be just a short walk into town. My only regret is we were only able to stay one night due to previously scheduled events but if we are ever back in Aspen I 'm sure we will choose The Gant.

The Crystal Mill
As many of you know, I love taking photos. Recently, I biked to the Crystal Mill and took this photo to share with you. The Crystal Mill is located in Crystal, Colorado and was built in 1892 and was actually not a mill in the sense of being a factory, but was instead a compressor station. It used a water turbine to drive an air compressor for local silver miners. The compressed air was then used to power other machinery or tools. It fell into disuse in 1917 when the Sheep Mountain Mine closed. The mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 5, 1985. Today it stands as a Colorado icon, and is reputed to be the most photographed site in the state. This makes for a wonderful day hike or 4X4 excursion from the town of Marble, CO. Hope you can make it there to see it for yourself!
