Think Snow in Summer and Save at The Gant in Aspen

Aspen Skiing Company to invest $8 million in on-mountain improvements winter 2009-2010

ASPEN - Aug. 12, 2009 - It's summer and while thoughts of skiing or snowball fights may be a faint memory, early winter vacation planning can bring pocketbook relief that is good anytime of the year. The Gant is offering its ‘Summer Snow Saver' package that gives snow enthusiasts a tiered discount for each night booked Nov. 26, 2009 - Apr. 11, 2010. The longer the stay, the more money saved. Guests can earn a 15 percent discount for an overnight stay and up to 30 percent off four or more nights. For example, a four night stay in a two bedroom condominium early in the season starts at $225 per night. By booking early, guests can save up to $67.50 per night, reducing the nightly rate to $157.50, excluding fees and taxes. During high season, the same unit starts at $525 per night, but with the Summer Snow Saver package, guests can save up to $157.50 per night, reducing the nightly rate to $367.50. Reservations must be booked by Nov. 15.

In 2009/2010, Aspen Skiing Company continues its six-year, $130 million improvement streak spearheading various initiatives, but the more notable improvements include:

• New hands-free gate access system - Aspen/Snowmass will be the only resort in North America to boast 100 percent hands-free radio frequency gate access across the four mountains.Tickets will be a plastic card with a chip inside detecting guests as they move through lift lines.

• New skier tunnel above Buttermilk - The tunnel will help ease and direct on-mountain traffic by separating terrain park traffic and regular skier traffic.

World renowned for its famed skiing, shopping, dining and après ski scene, Aspen/Snowmass is a premiere winter playground for kids of all ages. Four mountains, an assortment of terrain parks, superpipes and beginner pipes, and acres of backcountry terrain, give skiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels endless hours of powder-perfect entertainment. Snowmass and Aspen Mountain will open Nov. 26 and Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk will open on Dec. 12.
